Deus Ex Machina Redux

Through my ear buds comes
this message
Listen has the same letters
as silent
Then—
nothing
I squint at my little teal
music maker
The screen is
blank
Must need
recharging
Damn
There are over four
hundred
songs
Loaded on this bit
of technology
No good to me
now
Are they?

  2. I hate that too. when you forget to recharge and have to listen to the radio sometimes. and yes like Claudia said the silence might be better.

  3. batteries are the achilles heel of technology. My silence is very noisy - I can only sleep with the radionon.

  4. Listen has the same letters
    as silent///ha i like that.

and what good is our tech if it does not have power...that is certainly one limitation of it...a bit of silence sometimes is not a bad thing though...

  5. Now that is a dilemma that brings clear the intimate bond between technology and human desires and needs. By the breakdown of the gadget, it becomes clear that the desire is not necessarily a desire that will bring ultimate fulfillment of what one needs to be happy. The statement about listen and silent is cool, and I like the way that that plays on language's ability to rearrange itself into different meanings, like those tricky pictures that can be a rabbit or a duck. Great poem.

  6. Oh! Biggest Pet Peeve EVER! Without my music I am souless...I even have a battery operated cassette deck when all else fails. I am not ashamed! (and not confessing my 8track either!) I need my tunes and control over when what plays! Sorry...didn't mean to get sooo worked up! ;)

  7. worse is when you can never recharge again and need a new unit...

Unemployed eyes wither in winter’s white noise.

  9. At times I'm a technophobe but never worse than when one of my music machines is "down" - thanks so much for stopping by ...
